TOYS & COLLECTABLES
A collection of figure packaging across various licenses all done under employment of Super7.
As the Art Director at Super7, I led all packaging design and development across a range of licensed IPs, including Dungeons & Dragons, Toho Godzilla, Universal Monsters, and more. My responsibilities encompassed both hands-on design work and strategic creative direction, ensuring that every product maintained brand authenticity and resonated with passionate collectors.
Creative Leadership & Art Direction
- Led an in-house team of designers and freelance illustrators to create high-quality, collectible packaging that honored each brand’s legacy.
- Established and maintained relationships with freelance illustrators and designers, ensuring alignment with Super7’s vision and licensing requirements.
- Provided art direction on illustrations and overall packaging, from initial concepts to final production.
Illustration & Talent Management
- Sourced and recruited illustrators to collaborate on product artwork.
- Directed and provided feedback through paint-overs, sketching notes, and written/art-based critiques to ensure consistency and quality.
- Managed project timelines, contracts, and payments for freelance artists across multiple time zones.
Physical & Print Production Expertise
- Ensured print-ready files met high-quality production standards for packaging across different formats.
-Acted as a final quality check between designers’ digital files and the finished product, working closely with overseas factories to guarantee color accuracy and material integrity.
Brand & Product Development
- Balanced nostalgic authenticity with modern design trends, creating packaging that resonated with both longtime collectors and new audiences.
- Worked with licensing partners to secure approvals and ensure compliance with brand guidelines.
